Beachy Books

Beachy Books was established by Philip Bell in 2009 to publish his first picture book called Jack and Boo’s Bucket of Treasures. The book was a labour of love and captured the fun days out on the beach with his young children. The book helped Philip Bell win a Writing Magazine Children’s Publishing award, and three more Jack and Boo titles in the series were published and have sold well over the years, and proved popular with parents, young children and teachers.

Philip is published by Walker Children’s Books, as well as published articles and short story collections. His story for young children, ‘Bedtime at the Lighthouse’, was chosen by former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen to be included in the Mumsnet/Walker Books – The Book of Bedtime Stories published in 2013.

Over the years Philip has worked with individuals and community groups to help them publish books through Beachy Books, alongside his other careers in coding, interactive television, copywriting and web design, to name a few!

In 2020, Philip evolved his part-time publishing into a fulltime career and incorporated with a view to traditionally publish books in fiction, non-fiction and children’s books on the rebranded Beachy Books imprint, alongside the company’s long-established author-publishing services.

Beachy Books offers traditional book publishing for authors in the UK through wholesale distribution, and offers foreign rights sales and a ‘book-to-screen’ adaptation partner. Beachy Books likes the planet so only prints in small sustainable print runs, using UK-based printers and print on demand technology were possible.
