Road Song Books
Road Song Books is an independent small press based in North Devon. As far as we know, we are the only one in the area that isn’t a ‘pay to play’ publisher.
We started up in June 2025, and so far we have two books but many more planned. We don’t charge authors to work with us, we are royalty-based with contracts (but are too small at the moment to pay advances).
Our list so far includes: Coldwell by David Gladwin, and Gentle November (out 1 Dec) by myself, Alan Edward Roberts. Books coming include those by 2025 TLS Ackerley Prize-winner Jeff Young, well-known artist Mark Wigan, a Big Issue vendor Sam Oates, Little Toller Books/The Clearing editor Jon Woolcott, singer-writer Daudi Matsiko, and more…
We hope to produce an interesting list of literary fiction, poetry, short story collections, and narrative non-fiction over the next few years. We also want to put North Devon on the publishing map as there is very little beyond self-published authors.
We will have one submission window per season each year, and we encourage writers from all backgrounds.
