Ortac Press

Ortac Press was established in 2021. The press publishes a variety of non-fiction and novels, with a particular focus on art, culture and social science that is sophisticated and illuminating while remaining engaging, entertaining and accessible. Our list kicked off in 2022 with Flower Factory, music journalist Richard Foster’s psychedelic anti-memoir about working in the Dutch bulb-growing region at the turn of the millennium. Later that year we published Emily Bootle’s scintillating set of essays, This Is Not Who I Am, which delves deep into our modern obsession with authenticity. It was named as one of the best books of 2022 by the New Statesman. Ortac continues to publish fiction and non-fiction that is brilliant, exciting and beautiful.
