In collaboration with Liars’ League http://www.liarsleague.com/, celebrate the centenary of some women in the UK finally getting the vote. Stories from Arike Oke, Uschi Gatward, Elisabeth Simon, Jenny Ramsay, Elizabeth Stott, Carolyn Eden, Cherry Potts, Peng Shepherd, Joanne L. M. Williams, Katy Darby, Rosalind Stopps, Jennifer Rickard, Julia Kent, Elizabeth Hopkinson, Lucy Ribchester, J. A. Hopper, Fiona Salter, Swati Khurana, and Ilora Choudhury and originally performed at Liars’ League’s events in London, Hong Kong, or New York. Take Unconventional looks, dates, twinning and impersonations, add dodging bad luck, children (birth, opinions and stealing). Mix in encounters with Dragons, mermaids, opera singers, a lost species and Shakespeare’s muse; sprinkle in a hint of hollywood with sentient merchandising and #MeToo from the perspective of fictional ‘dead wives’. Women writers mix up genres and traditions to give voice to the female of the species… whichever species that might be.
