TLS Books of the Year 2022. On this day, 25 years ago, Maria killed her sister. Today, she does not find the keys to enter her apartment, nor the courage to leave it all behind. Her boyfriend Nicola is waiting upstairs, her mother has come for dinner. In a state of free fall, haunted by her past, sidestepping her present, and stalked by a future she is reluctant to meet, Maria will face the big question.
