Mystery Languages is a collaboration between Sheffield artists Norman Anderson, Alison Churchill, Ric Stott and writer and editor Rafael Peñas Cruz. It starts from Norman Anderson’s abstract paintings and scrolls in which he searched for a script to write a language that suddenly became accessible to him after suffering a stroke. The four of them established a conversation around this language, connecting it to a universal and unifying energy. This book is a poetic articulation of that dialogue, concluding that it conveys an ancient wisdom that is more relevant than ever, and that may help others in their own recovery from different setbacks, just as it did for Norman.
