Mise Erskin is charged with being a changeling and exiled from her village in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, where humans scrape out a pitiful existence on the edge of the dangerous forest ruled by the faeries.
Wandering, she finds her destiny in the weird woods on a quest to reunite with Poem, her best friend and only companion in the tricksy world of Faerie. Mise’s pony has been taken by the cruel and beautiful seelie High Lord, Hellequin, and she will go to any length, make any deal, slay any beast to save her.
Now Mise must rely on her wits and the help of a mysterious fox-tailed Fae, known only as Nameless, to retrieve the head of the fearsome monster Nucklelavee and trade it for her pony’s freedom.
This novella is an ode to forgotten tales and half-remembered rhymes, with all the charm of a traditional fairytale romance.
