Heritage Hunter
Heritage Hunter is a small press specialising in books relating to British history – this encompasses social, family, landscape and local history, as well as more general subjects of interest to enthusiasts of historical themes. Heritage Hunter books have been coming out regularly, or irregularly, since 2015.
The press is run by publishing consultant and expert book producer Andrew Chapman, as an offshoot of his publishing services business but focusing specifically on history. Andrew has worked with hundreds of authors in the field of history book and magazine publishing over more than 20 years, and regularly works with independent publishers in the sphere of British history and heritage publishing. He is a former executive editor of Your Family History magazine, and is currently the editor of social/family history magazine Discover Your Ancestors (since 2011), the British Association for Local History’s Local History News (since 2023) and the archaeology/folklore/landscape magazine Northern Earth (since 2025). These roles and other history-related projects enable Heritage Hunter books to be promoted to suitable niche audiences.
Since 2024, Heritage Hunter has been offering a mixture of hybrid and traditional publishing deals, now with a focus on the latter, and various new titles are already in the pipeline for 2026. Heritage Hunter does not publish historical fiction.
