Mystery Languages is a collaboration between Sheffield artists Norman Anderson, Alison Churchill, Ric Stott and writer and editor Rafael Peñas Cruz, a Spaniard living in Cambridgeshire and London. Norman Anderson’s abstract paintings and scrolls derive from a language that suddenly became accessible to him after suffering a stroke. The four of them established a conversation around this language, connecting it to a universal and unifying energy. This book is a poetic articulation of the dialogue they established, concluding that it conveys an ancient wisdom that is more relevant than ever, and that can help others in their own recovery, just as it did for Norman.
