Hayloft Publishing

Hayloft Publishing has won 7 awards at the Lakeland Book of the Year competition, and one of our books Rock Queen was a winner in the 2016 prestigious international Banff Mountain Literature Awards. This first translation into English of Catherine Destivelle’s incredible story won the Mountaineering History award.

Founded in 1988 at first the company was only working part-time on books as we were involved in writing and publishing Icetalk magazine to raise awareness and funding for the protection of Polar regions in association with Prof. Robert Swan OBE, the first person to walk to both North and South Poles.

Hayloft founder and director Dawn Robertson was honoured to become an Associate Member of the Alpine Club for services to mountain literature; she also holds a Prince of Wales Award for rural community work. She studied French, European Studies and English Literature at a top European university. She is a member of the Centre Régional du livre de Bourgogne, France.

Hayloft’s publishing experience includes books, newspapers, magazines, brochures, reports and websites. Hayloft employs freelance experts as each project demands and has now published nearly 200 titles, some now out of print.
