Asteria Press

Asteria Press was founded in 2022 by two bookish pals with a dream. The vision: an indie publishing house specialising in rule-breaking fantasy that would champion independent authors, publishers and bookshops. We named our new press Asteria, after the Greek goddess of shooting stars. This symbol encapsulated our sky-high dreams, and the magic of new beginnings.

Our aim is to bring the world more wholesome, magical, hug-in-a-book novels. Asteria Press’s central list features light adult fantasy that brings a smile to your face. That doesn’t mean our books are without peril. We love suspense, danger and heartbreak, and all that comes with it. The connecting theme that shines through all of our books is the rush of a feel-good escape. Thrilling comfort. Warm excitement. This is what we look for in our books.

We are a proudly women-led start up and seek to champion authors with exciting ideas and creative ways of redefining fantasy. What excites us is fantasy that does things a little differently. We want to push the limit of genre expectations and play around with tropes.
