Join Major Books in celebrating the release of our inaugural title, ‘Water: A Chronicle’!
You are invited to join us as we celebrate the release of our first book, ‘Water: A Chronicle’ on Friday the 8th of November, from 6PM onwards!
Doors open at 5:30PM.
Look forward to readings from the book, an exclusive screening of a virtual conversation between the contributors, a panel with the Major Books team on the story behind ‘Water: A Chronicle’ and their project…and you might win the chance of receiving our next two titles, ‘Making a Whore’ and ‘The Tale of Kiều‘ for free. You will be able to purchase a copy of ‘Water: A Chronicle‘ on the night.
Come to celebrate a unique literary talent (despite the author and translator not being able to travel to the UK), Vietnamese literature in translation, indie publishing and our communities!

Getting here:
UCL BaseKX is situated just by Regents Canal, by Coal Drops Yard/Kings Cross. The nearest underground station is King’s Cross St. Pancras, which is about a 10-minute walk to UCL BaseKX. Several buses serve King’s Cross and nearby areas, including routes 17, 91, 259, 390, and 476. There are cycle racks available around Granary Square and along Camley Street. You can also use the nearby Santander Cycle docking stations.
Please note that parking is very limited in the area. There is no on-site parking at UCL BaseKX. However, there are several paid car parks nearby, including the Handyside Car Park (off Granary Square) and King’s Cross Car Park. We recommend using public transport or cycling, as the venue is easily accessible from King’s Cross St. Pancras.
Accessibility:
The venue is fully accessible, with step-free access available at the entrance and throughout the building. Accessible toilets are also located on-site.
The screening will feature both English and Vietnamese subtitles. There will be no BSL interpreter for the panel, though.
