Caught blind and alone in a pyroclastic flow of memories, volcanos is unyieldingly honest, especially when it will hurt. Yet, whilst navigating a desire for meaningful intimacy and the pervasive feeling that you’re never quite enough, Lynch’s snarky and playful voice marks the collection with nihilistic altruism; where doomed love is embraced while it lasts, and moments that can never be returned to are remembered fondly. Touring traditional and experimental poetic forms with the lucid soul of innovation, volcanos bends the rules to find new shapes for old forms to thrive in contemporary poetry.
