About us:

Whether it’s 50 or 15,000 copies of a book we can produce your book competitively, quickly and maintain communication with you throughout the process. We have been making books for over 40 years from our family run printworks in Exeter, Devon.

Over the years we have focused on our environmental credentials using machinery that is both energy efficient and produces high quality print, we are FSC accredited. We print using digital and litho technology which enables us to offer the best printing method for your publication.

Owned by the Gliddon and Couch families, we have built a reputation for quality printing and binding and for excellence in service.

We are quite simply passionate about producing books whether they be sewn hardbacks, paperbacks, wiro bound or a little saddle-stitched book.

Carbon footprint offsetting information
Please note: Most of the information on this page is aimed at showing sustainability choices and mesaures; this section demonstrates the printer’s ‘extra mile’ in offsetting their resulting carbon footprint. While it is helpful in showing printers’ attitudes to offsetting, please bear in mind it is of course not necessarily reflective of their total carbon footprint, which we do not ask them to provide here, as printers do not routinely share this information. Data here is provided in percentages only unless otherwise specified by the printer. Information is provided in good faith but presses should exercise caution in relying on figures, and should ask printers for more up-to-date information. We show this information so that presses can use current industry estimates of carbon footprint KGs per book for offsetting, where ~65% of a book’s carbon footprint is in production, transportation accounts for ~25% and packaging makes up ~10%.
