Saraband
Founded in 1994, Saraband publishes literary fiction and narrative non-fiction, particularly in nature, environment, place, memoir, and literary biographies. In 2013 the press became the inaugural Scottish Publisher of the Year, and Saraband has also been recognised numerous times in the Bookseller’s Small Press and Futurebook Awards, as well as under several categories in the Independent Publishers’ Guild awards. Its authors include Graeme Macrae Burnet, AL Kennedy, Chitra Ramaswamy, Stephen Moss and Andrés N. Ordorica. Collectively, they have won or been shortlisted for prestigious literary prizes from the Booker to the Wainwright, Desmond Elliott and Rathbones Folio awards, in Scotland’s National Book Awards, regional book prizes, and several international prizes. Many of these have been for debuts, demonstrating a strong instinct for identifying new talent.
